Introduction of Osmanabadi Goat:- Osmanabadi goats were originated in India and native to state of
Maharashtra. This goat breeds are mainly found in Osmanabad, Ahamednagar, Latur, Parbhani, Sholapur
and other surrounding areas of Maharashtra. Now Osmanabadi goats are spread in other states as well.
Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka have good population of Osmanabadi goats. The best part of
these goats is; they can easily able to adapt to any kind of weather/area in India. The other speciality of
Osmanabadi goat breed is, they can fit in stall feeding, semi-stall feeding and open field grazing. The goat
growers select these goats for meat purpose even they are suitable for dairy/milk production because of
the taste and quality of meat. One can find pure line Osmanabadi goats for commercial breeding. The
great reproductive system makes 0these goats to be on top across all other breeds in India.

Osmanabadi Goat Features:- The Osmanabadi goats are large in size
and their coat colour varies, but 80% of its coat is in black colour and the
rest are white, brown or spotted. 85 % of male goats are horned; female
goats may be horned or poled.

Price of Osmanabadi Goat:- Price of Osmanabadi goat depends on
gender of the goat, local markets and goat characteristics. On an average live weight of Osmanabadi goat
cost 180 to 200 Rs per kg. Male goats (bucks) cost about 225 to 250 per kg. If you are buying for breeding
purpose, they may cost little more. When they are bought as flock, negotiate for better price as they are
good chances of getting at lower prices.
